Running headers and footers
Put the same line of text at the top, the bottom, or both, of every page — a document title, a CONFIDENTIAL marking, a copyright line or a draft notice.
Placement
Header text is centered at the top of each page and footer text is centered at the bottom. Page numbers can be added in the bottom-right corner in the same pass.
Typical uses
Marking drafts before they circulate, adding a company name to a report assembled from several sources, or labelling pages that will be separated from their cover sheet.
Watch the margins
