Privacy Policy

This policy explains exactly what SolveMyPDF does with your files and your data. We have tried to write it in plain language and to be specific rather than reassuring — including about the tools that do send your file to a server.

Who we are

Your files: what happens to them

Most tools never send your file anywhere.Merging, splitting, rotating, cropping, watermarking, signing, password-protecting and unlocking PDFs, along with every document and certificate generator on this site, run entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The file is read into your device's memory, processed there, and written back out as a download. It never touches our network.

A minority of tools do send your file to our server, because the processing needs libraries that cannot run in a browser. These are:

For those tools, your file is transmitted over HTTPS, held in server memory only for as long as the operation takes, and the result is streamed straight back to you. We do not write your files to disk, we do not copy them to any storage bucket, and we do not retain them after the response is sent. We do not read, inspect, or train anything on their contents.

If a document is sensitive enough that transmitting it at all is unacceptable, use a browser-only tool, or do the work offline. We would rather tell you which is which than claim a blanket guarantee we cannot keep.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which tools people use. It sets cookies and processes a truncated form of your IP address, your approximate location (country or region level), device type, browser, and the pages you visit. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not upload any file content to it.

You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking the script in your browser. The tools work either way.

Advertising

This site is free and is paid for by advertising. We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and, where permitted, to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Advertising never sees your files. Ad code runs in the page; it has no access to the documents you process.

Accounts and feedback

You can use every tool on this site without an account. If you choose to create one or to submit feedback, we store your email address, the feedback you wrote, and a timestamp in a database hosted by Supabase. That is the only personal data we hold deliberately, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Storage on your device

We use your browser's local storage to remember interface preferences — your chosen language, recently used tools, and whether you have dismissed the install prompt. This data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can clear it by clearing site data in your browser.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Under the GDPR this includes the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents may request disclosure and deletion, and may opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell personal information.

Because we do not retain your files, a deletion request cannot apply to them; there is nothing to delete. For account and feedback data, email contact@solvemypdf.com and we will action it within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we add a tool that changes how files are handled, we will update the list above before that tool ships, and change the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
