Real redaction, not a black box on top

In most PDF editors a black rectangle only hides text — the words are still in the file and can be copied out or uncovered. This tool rebuilds every page as an image with your boxes burned in, so the covered text is genuinely removed.

The trade-off

Because every page becomes an image, no text in the output can be selected, searched or read aloud by a screen reader — not only the redacted parts. Keep the original somewhere private if you need a searchable version.

Check every page before sending

Scroll through the whole output and confirm each box covers what it should. Names and account numbers often appear in headers, footers and captions as well as the body text.

Metadata is a separate step

Only what is visible on the pages is redacted. For documents leaving your organization, clear the file's metadata too — the author field frequently carries a name — using the PDF metadata remover.
